On Wednesday, Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada Volodymyr Groysman had a meeting with a delegation of deputies of the Knesset [Israeli legislature] of the State of Israel headed by Meir Cohen.
Groysman said "the visit is an important event" and noted that "there are lots of fields we can deepen our cooperation, and the development of interparliamentary ties is especially important."
The Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada said that the Ukrainian Parliament had a group established for interparliamentary relations with the State of Israel.
Groysman thanked the people of Israel for support of Ukraine in its counteraction to the aggressive northern neighbor.
In turn, Meir Cohen expressed gratitude for the reception and said that "the cooperation between our countries at different levels is developed in a positive way." He noted that "there are a lot of issues for cooperation in different fields." He also said that the forthcoming visit of the President of Ukraine to the State of Israel would be an important event "as it will open the doors for new cooperation."
The parties discussed possible cooperation in the field of elaboration of the insurance medicines legislation in Ukraine, in the issues of assistance to servicemen, who return from the antiterrorist operation zone, prospects of cooperation in the sectors of science and culture.
Groysman said "we are also interested in the development of comprehensive cooperation in agriculture with the use of brand new technologies." "I am confident we'll have good results," he said.
The Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada invited the Head of the Knesset of the State of Israel to Ukraine.
